The Workout of The Day for Thursday, 10.25.12. “Flowers”

Howdy folks,

Wow…

looking back, we’ve done another long, hard block of training, and I have absolutely no doubt that some of ya’all are starting to get just a little bit cooked…

So, hey… time to start thinking about your rest and recovery a bit more, and maybe time for a little bit of a break for some of you, especially if you’re planning to ride on through into  January or even February.

We will talk more about this in the next couple/few days, OK?

For today, though?
Lots of double race weekends coming up, so nothing super hard today.

in fact, we’re going to make this a relatively easy day, and send you out on a…

One to Two Hour Moderate Ride –

Get on your bike.

Go ride for an hour or two.

No hard efforts, but do throw in a couple of moderate ones. By moderate, I mean just that. You can sprint for the town line, but you should be laughing while you do it.

You’re not doing a recovery spin, so you need to put a little bit of gas into the pedals… just don’t go out and kill yourself.

Check out the view, smell the flowers…

just do it while you’re putting a little bit of effort into the pedals.

1 notch above a recovery ride.

Make sense?

Have fun!

One Response to “The Workout of The Day for Thursday, 10.25.12. “Flowers””

  1. I’ve enjoyed following your blog for a while and really appreciate them. While I don’t always follow the workout exactly (perhaps less volume or less reps for me…hey I’m a master race after all), it gives me a place to start and an idea of what to try to work in for the week. I’m interested to see what you have to say about rest cause I reached cooked status about 2-3 weeks ago and stepped back from racing for a few weeks (8 of 9 weekends away from home and lack of sleep will do that to you) This weekend will be a double at the Cross Crusade and can’t wait to see if I’ve recovered enough to be “in it” again. Thanks again for your blog.
