The Workout Of The Day for Thursday, 11.25.10 – Thanksgiving
Howdy folks,
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you have a wonderful day, whatever you do today.
Whatever that is, what it shouldn’t be is a structured bike workout.
Spend some time with your family, or if you’re on your own (like me!) it’s a great day to go see a movie or something.
Relax.
Have some fun off the bike.
If you absolutely, positively feel like riding your bike today – do whatever the heck feels good. If you happen to live in the Seattle area, I recommend Mick Walsh’s annual thanksgiving charity ride –
Please join us for the 7th annual Seattle Thanksgiving Day Ride to benefit Northwest Harvest www.northwestharvest.org
Lets be thankful that we are fortunate enough to have the time and money to enjoy a great activity like cycling and give to those less fortunate who are
more concerened about where their next meal is coming from, rather than what carbon wheels they are going to ride next year.
We will meet at the Leschi Starbucks,
We’ll meet at 9am and depart at 9.15 for a socially paced ride around the south end of Lake Washington.
A suggested donation of $5 per rider is what I am asking, but whatever you can give would be a great help.
The Cycling community has contributed $800-$1,500 to Northwest Harvest the past several years, to help those in need
at this time of year. Let’s try to, at least, match that and help where it’s really needed.
See you there, and let’s hope for dry roads 😉
Mick Walsh
Whatever you do today, have fun and enjoy the holiday!
